Welcome! (In Egypt, they say "Ahlan Wasahlan.")

Tamalyn Dallal has dedicated her life to Raqs Sharqi (AKA “Bellydance.”) She dances it as a daily practice for health, healing, exercise and relaxation. This dance is a “miracle dance” that reduces stress and helps us appreciate and love Egyptian, Turkish and Levantine music and culture.

This song is one of the most famous songs to dance to from Egypt's Golden Age. It is the opening of one of Umm Khulthum's most popular songs. The version used in this choreography is a very rich instrumental by Mokhtar El Said from the Jalilah's Raks Sharqi series.

This is one of the most important concepts in Tamalyn's teaching. It is valuable to learn repeatedly. Sometimes the approach, music or combos vary, so it always stays fresh. But using earth (grounding) and sky (expressiveness) will greatly enhance your dance practice.

Recordings of each class will be available the same day on Zoom and/or Google Drive
