Middle Eastern music and dance are intertwined. Many western instruments have been added to Middle Eastern music in the past century. What do we do when we hear the cello (don't we all love the cello), or where does the double bass fit in? And the guitar- we know it originated from the oud- How do we tell the difference when we hear these instruments on recordings? Let's dance and explore these wonderful stringed instruments on our journey through musical instruments. 3 classes/ November 7, 14, and 21. All classes can also be taken as Zoom recordings, which stay online for 8 weeks or you can request them on Google Drive.
